ALS Metallurgy contracted X2 Engineering to provide engineering services to assess and recommission a HPAL plant from North America. This project required engineering to provide appropriate power supply (575V 60Hz) and to bring the system in-line with Australian Standards.
Extensive modifications and design changes were required to the electrical system to bring it to an operable level within Australian Standards.
The existing control system ran legacy software on Schneider quantum PLC’s. X2 Engineering upgraded the entire plant to Unity 7.0 and redesigned the existing SCADA system on Wonderware Intouch 2012.
